The Best-Ever Grilled Hamburgers with Herbs

Next time you make burger patties for the grill, load ’em up with herbs and garlic for an ultra-flavorful meal. These are super simple to make!


  • 1 pound local ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup oatmeal
  • Small onion or shallot, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh rosemary, sage, and summer savory or oregano, finely chopped
  • Cheddar cheese slices (optional)


Mix all ingredients, form patties, and grill for about 5 minutes on each side over hot coals. Put cheese on last minute if desired.
